The journey of Heart of Gold FFA, Inc. began in 2023 when it was founded by Executive Director Christina Maholchic. With over 10 years of experience in social services, Christina brought both expertise and a deep sense of purpose to the creation of the agency.
Throughout her career, she witnessed firsthand the challenges that children and families face within the foster care system. These experiences shaped her vision to build an organization rooted in compassion, understanding, and meaningful support.
Through dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to making a difference, Christina turned that vision into reality. Heart of Gold FFA, Inc. was established to provide a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued, and truly at home.
At its core, Heart of Gold FFA, Inc. is driven by one fundamental belief: every child deserves to be safe, loved, and placed with families who will help them grow, heal, and thrive.
At Heart of Gold FFA, our approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and a deep commitment to the well-being of every child and non-minor dependent we serve. We believe that healing and growth happen in safe, stable, and nurturing environments, and we strive to equip our resource families with the tools, training, and ongoing support needed to provide just that.
Our agency takes a trauma-informed, strength-based approach, recognizing the unique experiences and resilience of each individual. We work closely with children, families, social workers, and community partners to create personalized care plans that honor each child’s voice, culture, and identity.
Through consistent guidance, advocacy, and supportive services, we aim to empower families and uplift communities. Heart of Gold FFA is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections and promoting lasting positive outcomes—ensuring that every child is met with hope, dignity, and love, one step at a time.

Heart of Gold FFA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization licensed to serve children and NMD's. Heart of Gold's mission is to support, guide and nurture individuals, families, and communities with hope, dignity, and love; one child at a time.

Resource families provide a temporary home for children and youth who cannot live with their immediate families or relatives. Placements may last a few days, months, or longer. Resource parents will go through a detailed application and screening process. Resource parents will attend required pre-approval training and receive ongoing support from a Heart of Gold staff member. Resource parents will receive financial assistance when a youth is placed in the home. By welcoming a child into your home, you give them love, guidance, and a safe space. The impact of your care will live in their heart forever.
